In January 2019, the Côte d´Ivoire launched the National forest and wildlife inventory project. It will run for two years on a budget of 6.65 million euros.
The inventory aims to update the knowledge on the country´s forest and wildlife resources in order to provide the Ivorian government with the tools it needs to manage its resources in the best possible way. It also sets out to assess anthropic pression on forest ecosystems and their soil fertility. A permanent structure will be set up at the end of the project to consolidate project achievements and to perform periodic observations of forests and wildlife.
The IFFN flyer Dépliant IFFN provides a clear and understandable overview of the project´s context and components.
